The OutfitGabrielle had hired a new assistant manager, and she'd been able to take care of a few of the more important things. Tonight, she had a party upstairs, but she'd heard of a new bartender that her assistant manager had hired. Gabriella had intended on going downstairs to check him out. Oh, she was going to be sure that she had the best in her bars. She would start this one off down stairs and if he was good enough he could move to the top floor. She needed the best to be on her upper floor because her current bartenders up there were angering her. She was sure that she was going to kill one of them tonight. That was why the firey blonde made her way down to the second floor where her new bartender was. Gabrielle felt the fire in her eyes as she came down the elevator. Afterwards she made her way to the bar. She smoothed out her dress as she stepped away from the elevator. She was much too over dressed for this event, but she'd come down from an executive party that was upstairs. She saw the man instantly and picked him out as the new prospect. She grinned a bit as she looked to him and then she slipped into a chair by his bar. She gave him a bit of a smile to make it clear he was going to be her bartender and then she relaxed a bit. Even as she was relaxed she stayed prim and proper. Her hands set on the bar as she set a small silver clutch on it. He had no idea who she was, and that was her full intent. She was going to not only test his skills as a bartender but if he was worthy of the position.

It was Costin's first day on the job. He had bartended at a couple parties, and when he realized that until he became a full fledged wandmaker, he wasn't going to make much money. He didn't need to make money, his family made sure he had plenty to spend, but he liked making his own money. So he'd gone looking for a job, finally getting an audition at a bar in muggle london. He was grateful for the chance. He had come a bit early to scope out the place, dressed simply in dark jeans and a t-shirt that clung nicely to his body. He took his place behind the bar as people started coming in and he got to work. He knew if he got hired he would be given a few shirts with the places name on it so that people would know he worked there, and wasn't just some joe who jumped behind the bar.
He had been working a few hours when he spied a beautiful woman, dressed up far too nicely for a place like this. It wasn't a dingy bar, but it certainly wasn't worthy of evening wear. He finished up with his current order and headed over to her with a charming smile. "What can I get you?" He asked her, his eyes on her face. He wanted to check her out, but that wasn't professional. He wasn't going to do it on his first night at least. He waited for her to order, hearing someone else request a vodka tonic. He grabbed the glass, and everything he needed, quickly putting it together and handing it over. He waited for the woman to give an answer. She was older than him, but not necessarily old. She looked beautiful, he was going to guess she was the wife of someone very important, then he realized she didn't have a ring.
She could have been a divorcee. He smirked a little and grabbed a beer for the guy heading towards the bar. Costin had an nose for drinks, this man had been drinking beer and he smelled like it.

Gabrielle felt him come over to her despite the fact she had been looking down. She heard his words and then she noticed that he could handle more than one customer at once. That was a good things to see. She smiled as his eyes met her again, and she let her very french accent roll over her tongue, "I would like a B52." She looked to him and then she smiled as she knew it was the most difficult drink that could be made. there were three layers and one slip and the layers would combine. Would this bartender serve her a silly mixed drink when it was supposed to be layered or would he waste her money? Gabrielle was curious and her heart beat at the idea of him failing. She thought he was far too cute for that kinda of thing.
When the man next to her came up with the overly strong beer smell she felt like she was going to be sick and her nose cringed a bit as she considered cutting him off herself, but that would be another test. When he gave the man the drink Gabrielle looked to the new guy and spoke, "Should he not have been cut off?" Her look full of concern as she watched the man begin to head away from the bar. She then shrugged gently as she gave the man a wink and smile and waited to see what the man would do about both subject.

Costin nodded when she requested the drink. He grabbed everything he was going to need for it and started to work, glancing up when she asked about cutting the man off. "He's had about four beers, he spilled one on him." He said, in referance to his smell, "He's here with his wife and another couple, the man from the other couple hasn't been drinking, he's driving. And besides, the poor man's wife isn't terribly pleasant, I'd give the poor man a break." He smiled half joking. "I'll cut him off soon enough." He shrugged, unsure as to why she seemed concerned about it. He had an incredible memory, able to remember who'd been up there, what they ordered, everything like that.
He sat the drink in front of her when he was done. "B52" He smiled charmingly, nodding at the drink, all three layers there. He had actually practiced that one before coming here, succeeding in getting his mother and aunt drunk, they had been his taste testers. He saw another woman coming and he flipped the rum bottle over, adding some to a new glass before adding Coke to it and pushing it over. She gave him a look of thanks and he put away the bottles, "How is it?" He asked Gabrielle as he moved onto another customer. Not wanting to leave anyone waiting for their drinks. He got out the shaker as a group of middle aged women came in. Usually they ordered hard liquor or fruity drinks.

Gabrielle listened to the man as he spoke and she nodded as she atched him make her a drink. She watched and then she laid some money on the table and spoke, "Keep the change." These are the kinds of people that she wanted in her life, and these were the ones that she wanted in her bar. She gave a larger smile as she watched the man disaooear to finish her drink. Once it was sat in front of her Gabrielle smiled approvingly as she spoke, "Very nicely done. Most bartenders have a hard time with this one." He mande the drink for another and then began for a few ladies. Gabrielle shook her head as she looked to him and spoke, "Put that down. I need you to come with me." When he looked at her with an odd expression she laughed as she spoke, "Trust me, you won't loose your job. I will make sure of it." She gave him a wink and then she slipped swiftly from her chair.
Gabrielle made her way through the floor and then she wandered through a few people to get to the private elevator. She slipped in her pass card and then she stepped onto the elevator. She held open then door and hit the three as she waited. He was still behind the bar, and Gabrielle dared him to question her as she stood there holding the door open for him and she waited for him to follow her. If she was going to have to go get him, then this would not be a pretty sight at all.

"Thank you." He smiled at her. He was careful not to call her Maim. He knew that most women hated being called that, especially by younger men. He worked on the drinks for the women, looking over at her when she said to put it down. "I'm sorry but I-" He cut off as she said he wouldn't lose his job. He beckoned for one of the other bartenders and told him what to make then followed her. "I'm suppose to be behind the bar." He said, but didn't stop. His eyes finally got their chance to run over her body, taking in the swell of her breasts, her flat stomach, her hips and finally her long legs. His eyes moved back up and he followed her, stopping at the elevator. Well... she acted like she was important, so...
He got on the elevator with her, stepping in. She had a pass card, that said something at least. And they had other bartenders down there. It would be fine. He decided, and if it wasn't... well then he'd find another job, this was an oppertunity he wasn't going to pass up, and since it was only going up to the third floor, he had nothing to worry about. He hated heights. He didnt like riding in elevators up to anything past five floors. He looked at her, quirking an eyebrow. He was curious about who she was.

He finally headed out form behind the bar and Gabrielle couldn't help but smile as she noticed him make a run down of her body. She then took a step back and let the elevator go as she watched him step through. She was glad that he had given in since she was his employer now. Once the elevator opened she took a step out and spoke, "Follow me." She room was empty but at the end there was her small office which had the light one. Once she got into the room she grabbed two shirts and then handed them to him as she spoke, "You'll be working upstairs which requires a white collard shirt and black bow tie or tie, but for tonight these will do. When you are not upstairs you will be downstairs, obviously. That is when those will come in handy. Welcome to my staff." She gave him a flash of her pearly whites and spoke, "Upstairs is just one more floor above and it is an open bar and there is no cutting off up there, as most arrive in limos anyways."
Her accent hung in the air for a moment and then she smiled, "I will presume that my assistant has your information, and I will have her put you on the books for information. I also. Oh, where is it." She began looking through drawers and then she saw a pass. She handed it to him and then she pointed, "You will need that for the private elevator." She looked up and saw the awestruck on his face, and she felt her smile widen as she spoke, "I am Gabrielle Delacour, the bar owner." She let her hand slide out to him as she spoke, "Welcome to the staff, mister..."

Costin quirked an eyebrow as they went to the office and she got out a couple of shirts for him. Oh.. she was... "You're a witch." He remarked. He knew of the Delacours. Gabrielle's older sister married one of the Weasley boys. Gabrielle had been held underwater during the triwizarding tournament. He knew that only because his parents met at the tournament. "Nicolae, Costin Nicolae." He took her hand and kissed it, his eyes on her face. "Thank you for hiring me." He sad honestly. He assumed this meant he was changing bars tonight. He took his shirt off, pulling it easily over his head. His jeans hung a bit low on his hips. He took one of the shirts and got it on, smiling at her as he buttoned it.
"Looking forward to working with you Ms. Delacour." He said with a smile. "If you ever need any help with anything, let me know, I've been told I'm very good at... everything." He said hoenslty and shrugged. Of course that didn't include Quidditch or knitting, two things he never managed to get the hang of. "Anything else before I get back to work?" he asked.

Gabrielle was caught a bit off guard when he said that she was a witch. She looked up in shock and then she looked to him as she asked, "And you too?" He kissed her hand and she laughed a bit as she let her hand drop and then she spoke again, "You earned it, Costin." She watched as he stripped his shirt off and her eyes traveled over the length of his stomach and she smiled as she saw his stomach that was well toned. She then dragged her eyes back to his face once he'd finished getting redressed. She pointed to his waist and spoke, "Tucked in since you'll be upstairs. Once you are down stairs you'll be a manager of the downstairs bars because you are one of my best."
He said that he was looking to work with her and she laughed as she spoke, "I rarely work behind the bar. When I do, it is purely out of boredom. Somehting that I hope to not have." Then he told her he was good at everything and that if she needed anything to let him know. She scoffed a bit as she spoke, "I will not even go where I would love to go with that right now. Last thing I need is a sexual harassment charge." She stepped out of her office and then she began to walk towards the elevator again and she put her pass in and then she took a step on it when it opened and spoke, "No, I think not." She took a step on and then she waited for him. Once they were upstairs she went to the bar with him and she spoke, "Finley, second floor, bar three. Do not expect to be up here again." That person lost all her trust.
She was only by the bar a moment before she was tapped on the shoulder and asked to dance. She smiled as she spoke to him, "You'll do fine, Costin." She then gave him a wink before going out onto the dance floor. She was lead across the dance floor, but she couldn't take her eyes off her new hire. Oh, he was going to be some trouble for her. Gabrielle felt her heart beating and then once the dance was over she gave the man a kiss on the cheek and thanked him. She checked that the other two bars were okay and then she headed to the one that Costin was at. She ordered her regular, a long island, and she asked him, "Are you fairing well enough?"

Costin nodded. "Yep, Graduated from Hogwarts and everything, Beauxbatons right?" He assumed because of her accent. He got on the elevator. "Does it count as sexual harrassment if I invite you to do so?" He asked, half teasing as they rode the elevator. he nodded when she said to tuck his shirt in. He tucked it in, pulling the pants up a little higher so they didn't look too low. He nodded as they got off and she explained it to him. "Got it, thank you Ms. Delacour." He said, getting behind the bar. He got to work, watching her as she walked off the dance floor. After he couldn't see her anymore he got to work. He worked quickly and precisely, flirting lightly with the women as they came up, but he found that he kept glancing out at the dance floor to try and catch a glimpse of Gabrielle.
He got to work on the long island, looking up at her. "I haven't had any complaints yet, and my tip jar runneth over." He said, mixing the alcohols together. He pushed it in front of her. "On the house." He joked then made a drink for someone else who came up to the bar. "You're a fantastic dancer if I do say so myself." He said to her as he handed over another drink. "Though he wasn't so great." He added, a few of the times he had found them out on the dance floor, the guy had been about to stop her toes. He shook his head and got a beer out for someone.

Gabrielle smiled as she spoke, "Yes, I graduated probably before you even attendeed Hogwartz." She gave him a smile and she shook her head a bit at him. She then heard his comment as she spoke, "Well, you will not ask, so I will not flirt." She laughed a bit and then she began to wait for the elevator and lead him where it was he had needed to be. Once she'd returned his way of telling her he was doing well made her laugh as she looked to him and then she shook her head as she spoke, "I knew that you would do well here. I am glad that you are able to do so well here." She smiled a bit and then she heard him say it was on the house. She put a tip on the table and grinned a bit as she looked to him and spoke, "Nothing is ever on the house for me."
He mentioned her dancing and she raised and dropped her shoulders as she spoke, "I went to Beaubatons, of course I am. Can you dance, Costin?" She smiled as she looked to him and her eyes sparkling with excitement as they followed him to making the other drink. She took a sip of her own and then she watched the beer. She took a deep breath and then she looked down into her drink. Her smile was small as she looked up to him and spoke, "This party ends at midnight. There is a small bar detail, but then the night is yours. I am sure someone is missing you."

"Trust me, I would never complain to anyone about you flirting with me." He smirked and went about working. Possibly." He shrugged and served a martini. "My parents met when your sister was in the triwizarding tournament." He said, pushing the martini glass over. "But I never really cared for ages. And not in that 'age is just a number' cliche." He added. "I feel, in normal cases, the older you are, the wiser you are. And I'd rather spend time with someone twice my age with something interesting to say, than a girl my age who speaks of nothing but her hair and the latest gossip." He wasn't saying it to flatter her, it was just honestly his opinon about these things.
"I'm very good at dancing." He said, taking the money she slid across the bar. "If you put in a shirtless saturday, i could make millions." He joked as he went about pouring shots. He made a bit of conversation with the guy taking them and then went back to Gabrielle. "Midnight, got it. What time do you usually head out of here?" He asked curiously. If she left at midnight then he was going to jump on the chance to accompany her home. No lady should have to make her way home alone, even if she had a limo to take her there.

He mentioned that his parents met when she was under the water at the triwizard tournament, and she felt a shutter at the idea of being under water making her scream against her body. Gabrielle listened to him, and his point seemed to be a good one. She grinned brightly as she looked to him, and then she spoke gently, "Well, you are very wise. I cannot imagine why with such a philosophical mind that you are here serving in a bar, but I will not complain." And she knew that she wouldn't. Not only did he seem to give her something to look at, but he also gave her someone to talk to and be aorund. This was going to be an interesting time, but Gabrielle could only hope that she was going to be able to control herself. That was going to be an important part of this. Gabrielle needed to control herself and keep her job and her pride with the environment she was in.
He told her he was good at dancing and she gave a smile and went to take a drink. Then he mentioned the shirtless Saturday and she looked wide eyed to him as she spoke, "I think not. This is not that kind of establishment. Even the bars and club downstairs is very high-end." He asked her when she was going to leave, and she smiled as she spoke, "I live about two blocks towards out of London. I usually walk home about midnight or whenever I am not too busy." Her smile came across her face as she looked up to him and then shrugged her shoulders. Gabrielle was used to being alone on her walk, but it hadn't meant that she didn't worry a little, even with a wand.

Costin smiled at her, leaning closer to her. "I'm in training to be a wand maker." he admitted. "But, shockingly enough, they don't pay me that well to just sit around and watch someone else work." He shrugged and mixed another drink. He thought about her policy on dating in the workplace but figured it would be a little too brash. he didn't want to lose his job hours after he got it. He smiled and mixed a few more drinks. Midnight was going to come too fast he realized. He was going to offer to take her home, definitely. He smiled at her and kept working. He was getting out drinks as fast as he could as a rush of people came by, all of them wanting a more complicated draink than the last. one lady, he swore, thought she was ordering a coffee with the specifics she gave.
He smiled at Gabrielle's reaction to shirtless saturday. "I was joking." He said, though it would get him quite a bit of money. Hell if he had a dollar for everytime a women had undressed him with their eyes, he'd have made a thousand, easily. Then he remembered he was going to have to take the money to gringotts to exchange it for wizard money. everything he did was in the wizarding world, except this. Once in a blue moon he would go out to muggle London to have a drink or go out with a girl, but that was rare. He leaned closer to her again when she said that she walked home. "Then I insist that you allow me to accompany you home." He said.

Gabrielle listned to his reasoning for joining her staff and then she nodded a bit as she spoke, "Very admirable goals to have." She'd had goals once before this had become her life. Gabrielle had wanted to open her own apothecary shop and she'd wanted to mettle in the potions again, but what had she done? She'd been rash at the death of her parents and lef the home she knew to come to England and do what? Open an elite bar. It hadn't been everything that she had planned, but it was what she did. this was her life. Had she made all the right decisions? She was sure that she hadn't. Her heart felt like it was plummeting as he tended to his other customers. Had she made the right decisions and was it too late to change? she took the straw in her drink and she swished the ice around in it with a small stir. Once the lady ordered her drink that way she laughed as she looked to her and spoke, "Hello, Mrs. Endevears."
Her eyes directed towards him as he made the drink and their conversations continued. She looked to him about his joke, and she shrugged her shoulders and spoke, "I take a lot of pride in what I have done with this building. It is all I have most the time." Her family was busy. Her sister and brother-in-law were busy with their own lives and family. She was always invited for the holidays, but it did not mean that in the end she still spent her nights in this bar making sure it all worked smoothly. Her life was this place, and that was the let down of her life. She needed to make sure that somehow she managed to get a better grasp on all the things going in her life. That was her plan, to full fill the rest of her life whether it be in opening another shop or finding someone to fulfill her other needs.
When he leaned in Gabrielle caught a whiff of his scent, and she felt her pulse pacein. Her eyes looked to his as she heard his words. Her eyes dropped to his lips for a moment before she leaned back a bit and spoke, "Then you can floo or aparate from my flat." Her smile was genuine as she spoke, "I will see you in my office after you've finished then." Gabrielle's hips swayed as she took her drink and left the bar to check on her other bartenders and her guests. Once she was sure that things were good she went to her office. Gabrielle began to do the book keeping and balancing of her check books and accounts for the week. Looking at her liquor list she wondered what else they might need now that the night was over. She knew he assistant would pull an inventory for her tomorrow. Gabrielle looked at the picture of her sister and Bill's wedding on her desk and she gave a small laugh setting it down. her desk was adorned with family photos. Once she sat it down she heard her office door opening and she looked up with a grin, "midnight, already?"
