[Open] [outfit][Midday] Kendall was out on a bit of a shopping spree. She had been banishing all her bags back home after she would finish at a store. She didn't like walking around the alley with all her bags bec`ause of the possiblity of seeing someone from work and confirming to all of them that she was an airhead with a spending problem. She decided to stop for something to eat. She walked into the ice cream parlor and got in line. She still had a couple bags from the bookstore. She had decided she needed more books. She smiled softly and opened her bag, pulling out one of the books she'd bought. She read the back of it as she waited for her turn in line. She looked up, glacing around as she stepped forward.
She reached into her purse and pulled out the owl she'd gotten that morning. It was from her mom, which was weird, just because her mother never wrote her unless she needed something, but this was just a 'how are you doing' letter. She was sure another would be coming to tell her that her mom needed something. She shook her head and put it away with a sigh, stepped forward again. She wished she would have worn her coat. Because, despite the large number of people in the ice cream parlour, it was really cold outside.

Josh normally shied away from public places when he could help it. He loved playing for the cannons, but hated the fame that came with it. It was almost Christmas though and he needed to do some shopping so that was why he was in diagonal alley that day. He had dressed in a thick leather jacket over a dark red sweater and jeans. He had on a brown scarf that his mum had knitted him before she died.
He had finished most of his shopping when he noticed the icecream shop. He was one of the odd people who enjoyed icecream on a cold day. When Josh walked in the door he nearly stopped in his tracks. Standing there was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Josh had a bit of a probelm around women, especially those he had an interest in. He felt like an idiot but couldn't take his eyes off of her.

[Open] [outfit][Midday] Kendall tapped the heel of her boot against the linoleum floor as she waited. She didn't have any sort of patience. She ran a hand through her blonde locks and glanced around the room at the other people again. There was a small family with a couple of young kids, an older woman who possibly didn't know that it eas winter because she wasn't wearing anything remotly warm, and then the people in line with her. There was a man in line ahead of her with a balding spot on the crown of his head, then behind her there was a woman with a large shopping back and then another man... this one was staring at her. She quirked an eyebrow at him, then realized who he was.
Josh Stonewall from the Chudley Cannons. She smiled at him and nodded, turning back to the front. She would call the Cannons her third favorite team. They had gotten much better recently thanks to their new coach who finally decided to start bringing in new players that actually had talent, like Josh. She looked back at him again as the balding man stepped up to order his ice cream.

Josh hoped that his wind burnt cheeks hid his blush. He felt like a creeper, and knew that he had to do something now. He could just nod back and leave it as a random encounter, but he knew that if he wanted to get to know her he'd have to make his move now. "Hello there." he said with a smile. He hit himself inwardly at his awkward greeting. She must have thought he was super smooth at that.
"You must hear this a lot, but you are beautiful." he added. He hoped he had redeemed himself a bit there, but hoped that he hadn't come out as a creeper. Josh wasn't quite sure what to say next but knew that he wanted to at least try and get to know this girl better.

[Open] [outfit][Midday] Kendall chuckled and shook her head as he said hello. "Hi." she smiled and tucked her hair behind her ear. She found this really odd, she figured a guy like josh Stonewall would be incredibly cocky and talkative. talking to a pretty girl would be nothing to him. There were tons of women who would throw themselves at him if given the chance. Though she kind of liked that he was so shy. It was sweeter than any of the other options. She stepped aside and let the woman go ahead of her so she was right in front of Josh.
"I've heard it once or twice." She nodded with a small smile. "Kendall Vander Wende." She introduced. She wasn't famous, so she couldn't assume he would know who she was. lots of people knew the Vander Wende name, but few of them actually knew individual members of the family. which of course didn't bother her any other than the automatic assumption that they were all spoiled and evil, but whatever, she still didn't care about what people thought of her, or her family.

"It's very nice to meet you Kendall." he said. Josh had heard of the family name before but he had never known any himself. He could already tell that she was different then most of them. From what Josh had heard, they weren't known for being friendly. "I'm Josh Stonewell." he said. He was sure she probably had recognized him but he wasn't fond of his popularity.
"So it's good to know I'm not the only one who likes ice cream in the winter." he said with a smile. He was trying to sound cool and not like an idiot. He really wanted to talk to this girl. Josh ran a hand through his hair, a nervous habit that he sometimes had.

[Open] [outfit][Midday] "Likewise." She smiled, wow, he was awkward. "Yeah, I know. I'm a quidditch fan." She nodded. "But I'm more into the harpies, but Cannons are high enough up on my list to know the players." She adjusted her bag. Kendall was honestly surprised to see him here, granted, she was totally sure how far of Chudley was. She was horrible at geography and all that. She glanced out the window of the ice cream shop and made a face, it was Billingsly. He passed by, glancing in to see her with her shopping bag and Josh. "Grand." She muttered. No, she couldn't let Billingsly bug her that much. She wasn't going to let his talking get her to the point where she felt ashamed of shopping and talking to guys in public. So what if he told everyone in the office? She was allowed to talk to people. And spend crazy amounts of money.
She turned her attention back to him with a smile. "Of course." She said. "If the rest of me is going to be cold, my stomach might as well join in on the fun." She joked lightly. "If they made something hot that was as good as ice cream I'd be all over that." She shrugged and looked up at him. He was good looking, one of the few quidditch players who didn't have a crooked nose. She glanced out the window again, half expecting the old man to walk by again, taking pictures. He seemed to really enjoy telling people she was just a useless girl. She pushed that out of her mind.

Josh knew that a lot of women liked the Harpies but there were plenty who followed the canons as well. "The Harpies are a good team." he admitted. They were one of the better teams in the league but the canons were getting better.
Josh was feeling a bit more awkward as he noticed Kendall looking out the window. He was wondering if it was someone looking at him. "That is a valid point." he admitted. Josh took his watch out of his inside pocket and looked at the time. "I'm sorry but I have to get going." he said. "We have our team party in about an hour and I lost track of time." he said. "It was really nice meeting you Kendall." he said. "If you are ever at a canons game I'll hopefully see you again." he said. Josh turned away from her and started for the door.
