Harry walked into his office, having just came back from a meeting with the minister of magic. It was just a routine report, but the minister liked to speak to Harry once a week to get an update. Harry hadn't had anything to report, though that was the norm for the past few years. It had been quite some time since the wizarding world had faced a real threat, and Harry was thankful for that. Now that he had Ginny and his kids, he truly appreciated what his parents and the others must have felt when Voldemort was still around.
Harry walked over to his desk, and pulled out his chair. He had accepted his position reluctantly, but after talking with Ginny he knew it was for the best. He missed going out and actually being active, but knew that as the head he'd be safe for his wife and kids.
Harry sat down and looked at the mess hid desk had become. He had never been tidy, he had relied on people like Hermione and now his Ginny to keep him in check, but he didn't have either of them at work. He smiled as his eyes landed on the moving photograph of his family. Ginny smiled up at him and so did his daughter Lily. His sons James and Albus were wrestling each other. Harry laughed, even in photographs his boys could be that way.
Harry looked up as he heard a knock at his door. "Come in" he said. He wasn't expecting anyone as he didn't have any meetings scheduled for the day. It wasn't unusual though for people to call on him at random hours as anything could happen in the wizarding world.

Kendall opened the door to her bosses' office. "Hey Harry." She said pleasently as she dropped a pile of papers on his desk. "The paper work for Old Mr. Skuttle." She nodded at it. "The old man thought he was death eaters in the woods behind his house and went running through the streets... with his robe open... and nothing underneath." She rolled her eyes. "We checked the woods, there was nothing there, no signs of death eaters and we calmed down anyone that was traumatized by the sight of a seventy year old man running naked through the streets" She looked at the papers. "And somehow that totally required thirty sheets of paperwork." She shook her head. she hated paper work.
Honestly she was hugely disappointed with this job. She knew there wasn't much out there threatening the wizarding world and she didnt want anyone to run around killing people, but this was just so achingly dull. The most action around here happened when Old Man Skuttle was his PSTD moments and went running through the streets. She placed her hands on her hips. "Anything else I need to do?" She asked. She'd been working in this department for about five years now, She was here when Harry was promoted. Her dad had gone to school with Harry, a year younger than him. She doubted he had known him personally though. Most people didn't really know Richard Vander Wende. He was pretty invisible though his school years.
She cocked her head to the side, looking down at the pictures on his desk. He had a cute little family. She looked back at him, waiting for an answer

Harry smiled as Kendall walked into the room. She wasn't the most personable of aurors, but Harrry liked her. He had been surprised when she first joined the ranks, but she had worked hard and proven herself to even the most veteran of the old guard. She had at last not yet let him down on any of the cases he had assigned her.
Most heads of department wouldn't have accepted being addressed by there first name but Harry insisted upon it. He had worked with most of the aurors as equals, and that's how he saw himself. He may have taken the job of head, but he certainly wasn't going to expect anyone to treat him any differently then they had before.
"Hello Kendall" he said. "Have a seat." he said gesturing to his chair. Harry ran a hand through his untidy hair at the tought of Mr. Skuttle. "This is what the third time he's seen imaginary death eaters." he said. Harry knew that they'd have to do something to stop him, but the man was generally harmless.
"That is one of the less glamorous parts of the job." he agreed. Paperwork was something that Harry loathed as evidenced by his messy desk. "We are going to have to do something about Mr. Skuttle, but you don't have to worry about him for now." he said. "I'll probably go have a talk with him." he said.

Kendall smiled, she liked Harry, for two main reasons. One, he didn't demand they call him Mr. Potter. And two, he had never under estimated her. At least not to her face. From day one in this department she had caught crap from almost everyone because she was Spoiled, and because she had worn very, very expensive boots for training. They had all just assumed she would fail. Or else they tried to give her smaller assignments. Not Harry, he had treated her like any other recruit from the beginning. She had appriciated it. She looked at his desk. "Why don't you just use a couple of spells to keep this thing cleaned up? I figured if I could do them they can't be that hard." She joked.
Her eyes wandered back to the pictures. She had met his wife, she came into the office every now and then for various reasons. But she had never met his kids. Not that she expected to, he was her boss. She turned her attention back to him with a smile. "No, the less glamourous part of the job is chasing that old man down the street with a pair of pajama pants in your hands." She argued. "Paper work is just boring." She shrugged and ran a hand through her blonde locks. "And it's the fourth time. He did it two weeks ago when he was in muggle London. Got to memory charm quite a few muggles that day." She nodded. "Honestly I don't know what can be done about the old man short of getting him put in a home." She said honestly.
"How's Ginny taking more more out of the nest?" She knew that his middle son was off to Hogwarts this year. She liked that Harry and Ginny were close to their kids. Her own parents didn't really care much about her or her sisters. They would rather be free of all responsiblity. Kendall had been raised by her grandparents and strangers. It was just a fact of her life, something that other people thought she would be upset over but honestly, she felt like she couldn't miss what she never had.

Harry laughed as he looked over his desk again. "Well I kind of like it this way." he admitted. "Ginny keeps me in check at home so this is really the only place I can be messy." he said with a wink. "I'll organize it eventually, but I'll do it by hand so I can know where everything is." he said.
Harry laughed again. "I think that'd be exciting." he said. "I miss the action, it's better then sitting here behind a desk." he added. "Though chasing a naked man isn't exactly the kind of action I miss." he admitted with a smile.
Harry removed his glasses and rubbed at his temples. Ginny loved her children, and Harry knew that she wasn't happy with Al being gone. "Well she's taking it as well as can be expected." he said. "I'm more worried about how she'll handle it next year when Lily goes to Hogwarts." he said. "Then she'll truly have an empty nest." he added.
Hary smiled and looked up at Kendall. "How are things going with you?" he asked. He knew that not all of the aurors liked her. He had gotten complaints but he knew most of them were false. A lot of the old guard did not like Kendall, but Harry had always defended her.

Kendall chuckled. "Well I have no room to talk, if it weren't for cleaning spells, my house would resemble a storage unit." She admitted, though she was a bit surprised when he said he'd clean by hand. "Wow, it's been a while since I've heard someone opting to do something the muggle way." She half joked. Her experiences with 'the muggle way' were unusual. She grew up with a pureblood family. When she was with her grandparents everything was done with magic, but when she was with her dad, travelling, they would be around muggles who did things, obviously, the muggle way. So she knew how to do things, she could make all sorts of food from other countries, and other things that normally a girl from a family like hers wouldn't know. However it was still weird to actually hear that someone would do something the muggle way.
"How's he liking it so far?" She asked him. She had hated her first year at Hogwarts. She honestly had hated all seven years of Hogwarts, she'd have rather been traveling, but she was strange. "Has he given up on owling everyday?" She smiled, most kids tried to owl their parents everyday, then it would go to every other, then every week. By the end of the year they'd send one a month if they remembered. She never actually bothered with that. The owls would usually come back to her, unable to find her dad and her grandfather didn't actually reply back to her. Only her Grandmother would reply back when she'd owl.
"Yeah, it's getting a bit better." She nodded. "Thanks for talking to Billingsly." She added. Rod Billingsly was one of the older aurors who had an inability to take her serious. At first she could ignore it but as he got older the comments went from annoying, to sexist and then to boarderline sexual harrassment. He was the worst one though, usually they were just condescending. She was never one to hold back how she felt, but when she'd go off on Rod, he would just write it off as PMS or something else that would just piss her off more.

Harry laughed at the thought. "Well most of us tend to use cleaning spells." he admitted. "The only time we really ever clean by hand at my house is if we are punishing the kids and having them do it." he said. Harry had tried to instill some of his upbringing on his children but Ginny had bee brought up with magic so they had came to a compromise.
"Albus? He loves it." said Harry. He remembered how nervous his son was about going to the school. "His brother had tried to scare him before he went, but he's taken to it very well." he said. Harry laughed, "Well he's been writing us every other day." he admitted. "I'd give it another month or so before we hardly hear from him at all." he said with a smile.
Harry nodded in response. Billingslinly was a decent auror, but had a problem with most women especially Kendall. Harry had had to talk to him on several occasions before finally getting him to back off. "I'm glad he's backed off." he said. "I don't know what his problem was, but let me know if he does it again." he said.

Kendall nodded. "I could see that working as a punishment." She said honestly. She personally had never been forced to do any sort of muggle chore. One of the upsides of her family. "But I guess if it helps you remember where things are, then the muggle way is the best way to do it." She shrugged and toyed with a loose thread on her robes. "Oh that reminds me, are we having a christmas party this year?" She asked. She enjoyed Company christmas parties. It was fun to actually see her co workers let loose and act crazy. Turned out that people that were suppose to keep people following the law, could do some really crazy stuff when they had enough nog in them.
"Well that's good, Hogwarts can be hell if you're not into it." She nodded, "Is he thinking about joining the quidditch team?" She asked. she hadn't played, but she loved watching it, she still did. Shockingly enough she was a fan of the Harpies. She knew that Harry had been a quidditch player, she'd seen his name on some of the trophies when she had detention. That and there were a billion and twelive stories about Harry Potter that people told as if they were folk tales. When she found out she'd be working with him, she'd actually felt a little intimidated, but he wasn't nearly as larger than life as the stories made him seem.
"It's because He's old and I'm a young girl who does the job better because I can still run." She shrugged. "Honestly I wouldn't care as much if he wasn't a perv about it." She crossed her legs. She was use to getting comments about her looks and people underestimating her, but she did have a line that if crossed, would set her off, and Billingsly had crossed that line and kept on going until she couldn't take it anymore.

Harry nodded. "Yeah it's the best way for me to stay organized." he admitted. "I'll eventually sort it out." he said. He had never been one to enjoy being the focus of attention, so the company Christmas party wasn't one of his favorite events but his people enjoyed them. "Yes, but I need to find someone to organize it." he said. "It's not really my thing." he said.
"He really wants to." Harry said. All three of his children had taken to quidditch when they were allowed to fly. Though that hadn't surprised Harry, as both he and Ginny played. "He is a good flyer, so I imagine he'd make the team next year when he's allowed to try out." he said proudly.
Harry nodded. "Well like I said just keep me posted if he ever says or does something again." he said. "He probably misses his glory days, but that's no excuse for doing that." he said. Harry certainly had no tolerance for bigots or sexism.

She shrugged. She honestly didn't get it. she hated cleaning by hand. But hey, to each their own. "I would offer to do it, but I don't think that would help my standing around here. They'd critisize everything about the party, especially things that cost over five bucks. 'Spoiled princess, we didn't need padded chairs'." She rolled her eyes. "But I'm sure there'll be someone to do it. It is one of the best parts of the year around here." She grinned.
She nodded. "I bet." She could see that, she knew Harry Had been really good, she didn't figure he would have stopped flying just because he got out of school, they had probably grown up flying. She flew for the first time when she was six and she had loved it. But then she didnt' get to do it again until her first year when they taught everyone to ride a broom. She had managed to whack the person to her left with her broom three times.
"I will, if it gets to me anyway." She didn't like 'tattling' about it because it just kind of made it worse. She'd rather they talk about her to her face than behind her back.

Harry laughed at the idea. "Well we do have a budget but I'd trust your judgement." he said. "I'll probably end up doing it myself with Ginny's help." he said. That was what Harry generally did when he couldn't find anyone to plan the events.
Harry nodded. "So how are things out of work?" he said. "You know you don't have to tell me if you don't want to." he added. Harry liked to know about his people, but didn't like to pry. He had decent relationships with most of them and generally cared about the. There were a few though who he didn't take the time to get to know personally though they were few.

"Yeah, i don't do well with those. I consider it a challenge, I win if I spend more than I'm given." She joked, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Well if that's what happened last year then I don't think there will be any complaints." She said. "Everyone loved it, because there was plenty of booze." She smiled and crossed her legs the other way. She was fidgety. She always had been. Sitting still made her nervous. She was always expecting an old spanish woman to appear and whack her with a broom, a side effect of spending a summer in spain with a woman who believed one should never be sitting around doing nothing. There were always chores to be done. Kendall had gotten her first blister that year.
"Things are going great." She nodded. "My sister is begging me to let her stay at my place over winter break, but I don't see that ending well. I'm probably going to make her go to grandfather's." She shrugged, she loved her little sisters, but they got really annoying, really fast. She shook her head and toyed with her bracelet. "Avoiding my Aunt like the plague. She wants me to talk to my cousin about getting her life on track, because she listens to me so well." Kendall rolled her eyes. "So yeah, just the usual family dramas." That was one of the things about being in a big, gossip-y family. There was always drama going on and always someone wanting to talk about it.

Harry laughed. "Well then I don't think they would like that." he said with a smile. "Ginny won't let the party go bad." he said. "Considering she attends it as well." he added. His wife had always known how to throw a good party, something that Harry himself wasn't quite good at.
Harry nodded. He hadn't had much family growing up, but since he met his adopted family the Weasleys he had had plenty of family drama. Even more so since he married into them. "Yeah families can certainly be interesting, but we have to love them." he said with a smile. "I know you like me have large ones which means extra excitement." he said.

"Oh I bet. Honestly a good party around here consists of spiked punch an christmas music." She waved a dismissive hand. Honestly thats what she preferred as well, she didn't feel obligated to dress up. God knows she'd catch crap for the prices of some of her dresses... though with some she knew she deserved it. She pushed that from her mind and smiled. "I'm sure it'll be great." She nodded. She loved Christmas in general. She made a mental note to pick up a gift for Harry, he was her boss after all. She heard that it was a good idea to buy for the boss. Something for their home, that Ginny could use. Or cookies, then the kids would enjoy it as well. yeah that'd be a good idea. She noted it and smoothed her top.
"Yeah well, unlike your family, my family, for the most part, is selfish and spoiled. Getting in trouble because they expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter, never gold, Silver is the color of Slytherins." She smiled, she had been a slytherin as well, and she had the slytherin pride, but once she got out of school she didn't dress in Green and Silver for a long, long time. She did it recently by accident.

Harry knew enough about Kendall's family to take her for her word. They were exactly like the Malfoy's, though they had a few decent members such as Kendall. "Well I have family like that." he admitted. "I was raised by my muggle aunt and uncle." he admitted. He had never talked much about his childhood to anyone. "They had a son my cousin, and they spoiled him rotten, though he did get better with age." he admitted.
Harry looked up as an owl soared into the room. It landed onto Harry's desk and stuck out it's leg. He took the letter and opened up a drawer, pulling out an owl treat and handing it to the owl. It hooted in thanks and took back off. He opened up the letter and read it over silently. "You busy?" he asked Kendall. "Seems there's someone at the Leaky Cauldron who has had a little to much to drink and has started to fire off random curses." he said.
