Tobin looked over at her and refilled his own glass and shook his head," No you look like someone who kicks ass and takes names." He shrugged his shoulders and kept drinking happily. He really was content with just drinking away the world. He made a face and shook his head," I'm a guy and that sounds painful." He shook his head and yawned his cracking his jaw as it came back to it's normal position. He cleared his glass again," But I hear you on the kids things, I don't want kids for a while and when I decide to start having kids I don't want a lot one or two is just fine. I mean I can't stand my siblings what would make me a good father?" He shook his head and looked over at her and smirked feeling the warmth of the alcohol take over his body.
" to answer your previous question I'm supposed to go and get a ring for the girl. But I'm putting it off and my mother and betrothed are going insane." He said and drank again and looked over at her." I do plan of blowing most of my money on alcohol." He smirked and shook his head wanting to cause trouble he looked over at the ass holes that were making Brennan getting all wound up. " People aren't worth my or your time es specially people who think it's fun to talk about people to their friend but to much of a pansy to talk to the person once confronted." He shrugged his shoulders and looked at her," Why are you so guarded Brennan?" He asked her and took another drink.

Brennan glared at the guys again then looked at Tobin. "Yeah well, I work hard to look like that." She lied. Honestly she didn't do shit. She woke up, put on some make up if she felt like it and walked around with her bad attitude front and center. She down her drink and refilled it. She could hold her liquor. She did almost as well as her dad did when it came to drinking. She figured by the time she was his age she could drink forever. She took another drink and looked at him. "I dislike children. I don't know if I ever want them. Why would I want to push a child out like a lemon through a key hole, just so I can have this tiny thing that screams and cries and poops? There's only room for one selfish SOB in my world and that's me, at all times." She half joked.
"Well that's exciting." She said in a dry voice. "Does your mom have a family ring ready or do you legit have to go out and buy her one? Because I'd say go out and get her a giant salt crystal ring. I know a guy who makes them. They look almost identical to a diamond unless you lick it... or if you get it wet." She smirked. "I bought one for a friend of mine... I actually really hated her, but whatever. She went around showing everyone the diamond her 'secret admirer' got her." She chuckled. "It was great. Remind me to get you a really great decanter for your wedding gift, and a special gift of booze for you." She added. She had already gone to the wedding of a friend, she had a friend last year who graduated and got married right away... god weddings were dull.

He closed his eyes and drank again and looked over at her. He really thought there was more to the monster that was Brennan and yet he was finding himself intrigued. He looked around and bit his lower lip thinking about everything that was going on. He wanted to make himself happy yet he was basically screwed over for the rest of his life. He looked at her and shrugged," I fully plan on enjoying myself for as long as possible without children. I mean evenutally maybe but I'm no where near being ready for anything that has to do with children. Let alone dumb children." He shook his head and closed his eyes for a moment but opened his eyes and downed another glass. " Yeah shit ihits the fan the second a person becomes single that was in an arragned marriage but finds love but then they break up. You do it you are in serious trouble." He shook his head," The family sees at as lying and lying is not tolerated. He shuddered at the memories.
He looked over at his well Brennan, " My family has many horrible fluks about them." he shook his head and looked around and smirked shaking his head," I would never be forgivven and my parents would make sure I never walked normal again." He shook his head and bit his lip looking over at her," I was told that you only once and you should only ever buy one wedding ring and this is really stupid how they prech love and then they require you to marry people that you don't love." He said and looked around and downed another shot. He rolled his eyes a moment and looked over at the girl and asked," So what you're just going to pick a guy and marry him or are you choosing to be single until the very last possible second?" He asked her.

"Shockingly enough I don't care about getting married. I would much rather concentrated on business." She looked at him. "I see men much like I do children, they're fine for a short while, as long as you can send them away when they get annoying." She answered, taking a drink. The bartender brought them another bottle and she shook her head. "Something stronger. I need something to make me forget how much life sucks and that I'm this disilluisioned at age Seventeen." She said to him. He took it away and brought over another bottle. She grabbed it and took a drink straight out of the bottle, she put it down and let out a small cough and nodded. "Better." She rasped.
"Technically it's not buying a wedding ring if it's salt." She pointed out to him. "Anyway, it was a suggestion, a damn good one if I do say so myself." She added, taking another drink straight from the bottle. "I want another bottle of this, to go." She pulled out her money, tossing a couple galleons on the counter as he brought out another bottle for him. She put it a little to the side so she'd remember to take it with her. "You know, if I were any other female member of my family, and if the Y chromosoned members of my family saw this, they'd kill you." She smirked. "They'd assume you were getting me drunk. But of course, since I'm Brennan they just assume I'm digging my own grave. What the fuck is up with that? They treat me like a girl when I want to be a part of the company, but when it comes to my reputation, I'm as good as a guy."

Tobin looked at hr and shook his head she was really packing it away and she wasn't even slurring her words it was impressive he enjoyed talking with people who could hold their alcohol. He looked over at her and looked at the bar tender who kept eyeing him like he was an alien he was just really tall and didn't want to have to do anything with someone who didn't say anything to him." I really hate that people think the truth makes a person cold." He said and took the open bottle and drank out of it. He looked over at her and shook his head,' Only you could turn a relationship with grown adults into something about babies. Just sick." He shook his head and put the bottle back down kind of surprised that she was able to handle the new drink.
He shook his head," Brennan you are a bit of a mystery and surprise." He said looking over at her and shaking his head wanting her to understand the woman that was sitting across from me." For the record if you were a male you'd be someone to respect and scare other men shitless. But your a female and you already scare most men. which is why you've had many people just afraid to talk to you." He said and looked around hoping that she wouldn't take it bad. " Lets play a game." he said and looked around and bit his lower lip waiting for her response. He looked around at her and ran a hand through his own hair and asked," Why do people always want to know who a person is? Like they honestly care? [/b]" He said. [/blockquote]

Brennan smirked. "Because most grown men are like babies. It's easy to make the comparison when it's painfully true." She toyed with her glass. "Once in a blue moon a good one will appear but it rarely happens, and those guys always want a weak woman who they can take care of." She shruged and pushed the glass away, taking another drink straight from the bottle. As someone who'd been drinking since age twelve she had gotten really good at it. "But that's not to say grown women don't have their faults. Especially the women in our circles. The majority of them spend their lives at home, either with the kids or with a drink while the nanny takes care of the kids. And not a good drink, one of those fruity little things that don't get anyone worth spending time with drunk."
She looked over at him, "I'm not that much of a mystery Tobin. People think I am because they don't take the time to get to know me... mostly because I don't want them to." she shrugged. "I just want to be respected for my assets, not my gender. I want to be respected and to scare men shitless with my second X gene, I don't want to have to have a penis in order to get anywhere in this business, in this world." She had other demands, but not ones she was willing to share with him. They were too intimate she and wasn't drunk enough to let them out into the open. "People ask because it's common curtesy. They think that they're doing better, asking how you are and not listening, than to not ask at all."

Tobin looked over at the girl and shook his head as she went on and on. He shook his head and bit his lower lip. He really didn't want to hear anything that she was saying. But he listened," Brennan, you're a strong independent woman. That alone scares the hell out of men. Every man is afraid of the woman who knows what she wants and will do anything to get it. Be yourself and soon enough your family will be asking you to head up the company." He shook his head and looked over at her," You're wrong you know." He looked at her his eyes being as intense as they always were. " There are some guys out there that can surprise you. They are good guys and want a strong independent woman whose smart." he shrugged his shoulders.
He looked around and stretched his very long arms. He looked over at her smirking a bit she was fun to talk to. He took another drink of the alcohol." It may be a common curtisy but I can promise you nine out of ten times the person really doesn't care. The people who care can actually listen and give you eye contact that say's they are engaged with what you'r saying." He shrugged his shoulders.

Brennan rolled her eyes and grabbed her unopened bottle. "Let's go." She got up and tossed half the cost of the other three bottles down. He could pay for the other half... actually... she tossed a little more down. "I drank more than you did." She said in explination then turned to walk out the door, bottle in hand. She really did intend on saving it. She was going to drag Lucy to the Room of Requirement later that week for booze, bitching and chess. Life would have been easier if Lucy was a slytherin, then they wouldn't have to find places to hang out, they could just do it in the common room, but alas, the bitch was a ravenclaw so they had to go to the room of requirement. And that room generally didn't provide them with hard liquor... apparently it knew that it was in a school.
"So what's the first ball you all are going to?" Brennan asked, though she didn't really care. She was just making conversation. "Mum is seriously considering going to the farce of a ball the Potters are going to be throwing. Dad doesn't really decide where we're going, he just dresses up and networks, but I dont know how much he can do there. The Potters have no interest in our type of business, and dad has always had a strong dislike for the Malfoys. Who else is going to be there? Seriously, the Weasleys? Yeah right, they'd be as useful as the Potters." She didn't have anything against the members of the families, but they weren't useful for getting ahead anywhere. "I'd much rather just start with the Zabini's and skip the Potter thing alltogether."

Tobin stood up and threw the full payment down and pulled her cash putting it in his pocket." Lets just get out of here." He looked around and smirked." For the record you may have drank more but it's kind of right for me to pay seeing as I asked you to come. But you technically paid your share." He shrugged and grabbed his own bottle and started off. He shrank the bottle and put it in his pocket. Tobin really didn't mind drinking he liked it but he was much more of a social drinker, he drank with people but not enough that it could impair anything. He did however everyone once in a while get drunk off his ass and when that happened he made sure there was no one around. He looked over at her and held out the transfigured cloak and looked at her,"So I take it you're planning on taking my cousin? I must say I need sleep and she has this uncanning ability as of late to play chess all night until she is dulled to sleep." He shook his head sighing.
He walked with her and listened to her make conversation." This is going to make me sound horrible, But the thought of going to Potter's ball is social suicide for people from our circles. I mean who is going to go. They're red headed family extent ions and the Malfoy clan because that's the only soc ail festivity that they could possibly be invited to. I would never be awarded full ownership of my father's company than. I'll probably be going to my own family extension Zabini's and Radcliffe's see my aunt being ashamed that her daughter was given the family ring back and left. Literally two weeks before the alter." He said shrugging his shoulders. " Either way I'll be stuck with the air head of a future wife " he shrugged his shoulders and looked at her," What ball do you plan on going? By some miracle you also plan on getting Lucinda to show her face with Danbe?"

"I am going to go to the dorm and pass out." She said, looking at him. "I'll spoil Lucy later in the week." She was about to open the bottle but stopped, right, she was saving it. She shook her head when he offered her the cloak. "I like the cold." She said, walking down the street, she glanced around, most of the places were closed down for the night. that was lame. "I really don't want to go to class tomorrow." She sighed, but she didn't have a choice, unless she went to the nurse, but she really disliked that woman. Last time she went there complaining about being sick the woman tried a pregnancy spell on her... that was the end of any friendly conversation between them. Brennan made a face remembering it.
"I don't really fucking care. I just don't want to go there and listen to them talk about family and how great everything is except little Jimmy is having trouble in Potions." She sighed. "Colby apparently is totally against the idea. She's threatening to... I don't know, whatever it is she can threaten them with. She's pretty useless." Brennan's sister didn't have a job, she didn't have a boyfriend. She just... hung out at the house and then went shopping. It was incredibly boring in Brennan's opinion, but Colby seemed pretty happy with her life... at least she acted like she was.
